The Communio Hariwhenua Award is awarded to recognise exemplary service and performance of an individual. It is to enable the company to acknowledge one of our great team members within Communio, that have excelled in their position and demonstrated integrity and a strong commitment to the privileged work we provide to our communities around the various rohi of Aotearoa.
This is an opportunity for any of our team, clinical or non-clinical, to put forward a peer or colleague whom they believe fulfils the criteria for exemplary service and performance, for consideration by the judging panel.
We believe we have many staff that are befitting of this award, who regularly go about their days working in an exemplary manner, without expectation of special recognition. They do this work because of the difference that this work can provide to whanau at their most vulnerable of times.
However, in honour of Walter 'Hariwhenua' Serancke, we want to be able to publicly recognise one of those exemplary staff, on an annual basis.
We started this award in 2023 with Garth Wright being the very first recipient of the award, followed by Rudy Paul in 2024. Congratulations to both as deserving recipients of this award.
